Happy National Fire Prevention Week! This week, I want to highlight the great work being done by the Old Fire Farts of York County - yes, that is their official name. After retiring from the fire service, they decided to be on the front lines of building excitement and interest in the younger generations, which is extremely important given the huge drop in volunteer rates. Last weekend, they had their 13th Fire Muster and awarded two scholarships to help cover the education costs for our future first responders! I had the honor of not only attending, but also congratulating the awardees.
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and we kicked it off by having the WellSpan Health Mammography Bus at our mobile office hours in Springettsbury Township! Early detection is key in conquering breast cancer, and I encourage everyone to GET YOUR MAMMOGRAM!
Yesterday, I was honored to meet Decker, one of the strongest kids in Pennsylvania! Diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, he started @deckersblueprint, a nonprofit that raises awareness, funds research, and provides resources to children with this disease. #FlexforDecker

After 46 years of incredible service, Jenny officially retired! Jennyโs inspiring career began as a part-time employee during high school, eventually leading to her highly successful 23-year tenure as Township Manager. It was an honor to present her a Senate citation recognizing her extraordinary impact on the community.
Thank you, Jenny, for your decades of leadership and devotion. You will be missed greatly and are wished the absolute best in your well-deserved retirement! ๐ฅ

Keeping Data Centers & Municipalities Accountable
Today, the Senate Communications and Technology Committee passed @senatorpennycuick`s bill to prohibit municipalities from entering into nondisclosure agreements (NDAs) with #DataCenter developers.
Community residents deserve to have a voice, and entering into NDAs will prohibit dialogue about this important issue. This bill will ensure key decisions about the future of local communities are made with transparency, and that the public is able to make their voices heard on the important issues facing their community.
Congratulations to all the Spirit of Youth Awards winners and thank you to Central York Communities that Care for such a great event. It was an honor to meet and congratulate all of the recipients and thank them for their significant contributions that made a difference in the Central York School District community!
