⚡We produce the power. But we’re losing the jobs.

Yesterday at the Senate budget hearing, I pressed the @pennsylvania_puc on an issue impacting businesses across our region.

🔌 Pennsylvania generates massive amounts of electricity.
📉 Yet companies here struggle to access reliable power.
➡️ Meanwhile, our ratepayers help subsidize states that don’t produce enough energy themselves.

That imbalance is costing us jobs and opportunity.

We generate a ton of power in southeastern York County:
⚡ Peach Bottom Atomic Power Station
⚡ Calpine 1 & 2
⚡ Two hydroelectric plants

But most of it flows south to Maryland, Northern Virginia, and D.C.

Meanwhile, our businesses are told there isn’t enough capacity to grow.

That’s backwards. If we’re producing the energy, Pennsylvanians should benefit first. ⚡

Today during the @pennsylvaniadot budget hearing, I asked if they’d work with the legislature to explore placing high-voltage transmission lines within interstate rights-of-way instead.

A smarter path forward to protect our land and plan for our future.

I had the opportunity to join @repjoedorsie and Rep. Brett Miller in recognizing Stella Siegrist of @ola_proud_columbiapa for being named a winner in the @paattorneygen's 29th Annual Drug-Free Calendar Contest. Stella’s artwork is featured for the month of April in the 2026 calendar, helping to share an important message about making healthy, drug-free choices.

Selected from more than 1,300 submissions across 44 counties, this is an incredible accomplishment and a testament to Stella’s creativity and commitment to a positive message!

Yesterday, we heard from Department of Corrections and @pennsylvaniadep as we continue reviewing the governor’s proposed budget and asking the tough questions on how YOUR tax dollars are being spent.
