HARRISBURG – Sen. Kristin Phillips-Hill (R-York Township) and Rep. Joe D’Orsie (R-Manchester) today announced more than $639,000 for five projects across southern York County.
“Rep. D’Orsie and I fought for competitive funding to make important upgrades that will improve public safety, assist our local Veterans, provide transportation upgrades for children served by Children’s Home of York, and make critical improvements to aging infrastructure,” Phillips-Hill said.
“I’m pleased by these funds coming into the 47th to support meaningful projects and reinforce our growing communities, “D’Orsie said. “This money will help build a stronger and safer community that’s poised for the future.”
The following projects received funding from the state:
- Hellam Township Police Department will receive $32,000 to upgrade dash cameras on the township’s six police cruisers.
- Springettsbury Township will receive $129,700 to purchase a new skid steer with a mill head attachment.
- Wrightsville Borough will receive $171,948 to make long overdue renovations to the American Legion Post 469, which is owned by the borough.
- Wrightsville Borough Municipal Authority will receive $174,915 to replace its waterline along Water Street from Willow Street to Front Street, which will provide safe drinking water for local citizens.
- York County Economic Alliance will receive $131,063 on behalf of Children’s Home of York to purchase three new all-wheel drive vehicles to transport children to medical appointments, school, family visits, and other essential travel.
The projects were funded through the Commonwealth Financing Authority’s (CFA) Local Share Account program, which uses gaming revenue to support projects in the public interest across the commonwealth. The CFA is an independent agency of the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development.
