Coincides Laurel Fire Company #1 Open House
WINDSOR – Sen. Kristin Phillips-Hill (R-York) will host a free license plate replacement event on Sunday, October 12, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Laurel Fire Company #1, located at 94 Schoolhouse Lane in Windsor. The event will coincide with the fire department’s open house, which will run from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The license plate replacement event offers residents a convenient opportunity to have their license plates inspected by the Pennsylvania State Police. Plates that are peeling, blistering, fading, or discolored may qualify for a free replacement under PennDOT guidelines.
“By combining a free license plate replacement service with the Laurel Fire Company’s open house, we are creating a one-stop opportunity for residents to take care of important vehicle updates while connecting with their local first responders,” Phillips-Hill said.
Phillips-Hill’s team will assist attendees in completing all necessary PennDOT forms on-site. Replacement license plates will be mailed directly to constituents.
Key details:
- Personalized plates will be replaced with the same configuration at no cost.
- Specialty plates (e.g., Wildlife Resource or alumni plates) will be replaced with the same plate unless discontinued. Discontinued plates (e.g., owl or otter designs) will be replaced with a standard plate.
- Standard plate holders who wish to retain their existing number must apply and pay for a personalized plate. This is the only case where a fee applies.
Attendees must bring:
- A valid driver’s license.
- Current vehicle registration.
- If more than one name appears on the registration, each individual must be present with their own ID to complete the process.
The Laurel Fire Company’s Open House will feature station tours, equipment displays, family-friendly activities, and fire safety demonstrations, making this a great opportunity for the whole community to engage with local first responders.
This event is open to all citizens. For questions, please contact Phillips-Hill’s office at 717-741-4648.
