Phillips-Hill to Host Free “Scam Jam” Event to Help Residents Avoid Fraud

JACBOUS – Sen. Kristin Phillips-Hill (R-York) is partnering with the Pennsylvania Department of Banking and Securities and several key organizations to host Scam Jam – a free, interactive event designed to help community members identify and avoid scams targeting older adults and families in York County.

The event will be held Friday, July 25, from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. at Goodwill Fire Company, 1 South Main Street, Jacobus, PA 17407.

Attendees will hear directly from representatives of:

  • PA Department of Banking and Securities
  • York County District Attorney’s Office
  • York County Regional Police Department
  • Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General
  • AARP Pennsylvania

In addition to expert presentations, the event will feature light refreshments, fraud prevention games, and an opportunity to win prizes. Participants will walk away with valuable tools to protect themselves and their loved ones from fraudulent activity.

“As scam artists become more sophisticated in their tactics, it’s critical that we stay one step ahead,” Phillips-Hill said. “Scam Jam brings together state and local partners to empower our community with the knowledge and resources they need to protect their personal information and finances.”

The event is free and open to the public, but space is limited. Pre-registration is encouraged by visiting https://senatorkristin.com/Scam-Jam/ or calling the senator’s office at 717-787-7085.
