Award only presented to five senators for pro-small business voting record
HARRISBURG – Sen. Kristin Phillips-Hill (R-York) has been named a 2024 Guardian of Small Business by the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB). As one of only five state senators to receive this prestigious award, Phillips-Hill earned a 100% voting record in support of policies that promote small business growth, job creation, and community development.
The award comes as communities across Pennsylvania gear up for Small Business Saturday this weekend, a day dedicated to supporting the local businesses that form the backbone of the economy. Phillips-Hill’s commitment to advancing legislation that empowers entrepreneurs and fosters economic growth aligns with the spirit of this national celebration.
“Small businesses are the heartbeat of our communities,” Phillips-Hill said. “Small Business Saturday is a great time to share that reminder with everyone that it’s those small businesses that support your kids’ Little League team. It’s those small, local businesses that support charities in the community. The majority of money you spend in a small business stays right here in the community. These are our friends, our neighbors, the people we work with, the people we bump into at the grocery store. They are our community.”
Phillips-Hill has been a steadfast advocate for small businesses, championing legislation to cut through red tape, lower taxes, and create more opportunities for entrepreneurs to succeed.
“Sen. Phillips-Hill is a consistent supporter of small businesses and is always willing to do what she can to make it easier to own and operate a small business in Pennsylvania. From supporting much needed reforms to the permit process to fighting back against costly regulations, small businesses know she is always standing up for them in Harrisburg,” NFIB Assistant State Director Melissa Morgan said.
Small Business Saturday provides the perfect opportunity for families to visit local shops, restaurants, and service providers. Phillips-Hill encourages everyone to take part in the celebration, knowing that their support uplifts the community.
