SPRINGFIELD TWP. – Sen. Kristin Phillips-Hill (R-York) announced the first round of rapid deployment road investments will be distributed for projects across southern York County by the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT).
“Thanks to the effective leadership of Senate Republicans in the 2026-27 budget, we identified unutilized tax dollars within PennDOT and forced them to put it to use where it matters most – back into our rural roads and bridges,” Phillips-Hill said.
Over the next 18 months, PennDOT will be disbursing an additional $775 million to shovel-ready Rapid Deployment Projects across the Commonwealth. Out of the initial $250 million allocation, more than $23 million will be spent in southern York County.
Senate Republicans negotiated an additional $500 million in the 2026-27 fiscal year and $275 million in 2027-28 to be released from the Motor License Fund. The funds will be for three- and four-digit road projects only, not interstates, which are funded separately.
