HARRISBURG – Sen. Kristin Phillips-Hill (R-York Township) and Rep. Mike Jones (R-York Township) today announced grants totaling more than $725,000 for four projects across southern York County.
“Rep. Jones and I worked to secure vital funding that will improve emergency services and upgrade aging infrastructure to improve the quality of life across our districts,” Phillips-Hill said.
“I am very pleased that the 93rd District will receive these awards,” Jones said. “Sen. Phillips-Hill and I were able to secure funding for four impactful projects that will greatly benefit our constituents.”
The following projects received funding from the state:
- Dallastown Borough will receive $166,000 on behalf of Southern Area Fire Emergency Rescue to upgrade lighting inside and outside three fire stations across the region, including 5410 Mt. Pisgah Road, 50 S. School Place, and 36 E. George St.
- East Hopewell Township will receive $134,500 to purchase a new backhoe loader, which replaces its existing loader that has become unreliable in recent years.
- Fawn Township will receive $134,317 to purchase a new utility tractor with a flail mower to maintain public rights-of-way, public parks, and roadside vegetation throughout the township.
- Springfield Township will receive $290,940 on behalf of the Loganville Fire Company to purchase new hoses, air cylinders, and 22 sets of self-contained breathing apparatus.
The projects were funded through the Commonwealth Financing Authority’s (CFA) Local Share Account program, which uses gaming revenue to support projects in the public interest across the commonwealth. The CFA is an independent agency of the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development.
