Phillips-Hill to Host Unclaimed Property Event in Penn Township

PENN TOWNSHIP – Sen. Kristin Phillips-Hill (R-York) will host a free unclaimed property event on Thursday, May 15, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Penn Township Municipal Building, 20 Wayne Ave., Hanover.

Residents will have the opportunity to search the Pennsylvania Treasury’s Unclaimed Property database and receive in-person assistance from Treasurer Stacy Garrity’s staff. A notary will be available to help with claims exceeding $5,000.

“At our last event, we helped return more than $200,000 to southern York County residents,” Phillips-Hill said. “Many Pennsylvanians are surprised to learn the state could be holding money that belongs to them. It only takes a few minutes to check, and I encourage you to come get assistance.”

More than one in 10 Pennsylvanians have unclaimed property, with the average claim worth $1,600.

Citizens unable to attend can also visit www.patreasury.gov/unclaimed-property or contact Phillips-Hill’s office at 717-741-4648 for assistance.
