Phillips-Hill, D’Orsie, Fink to Host Free License Plate Replacement Event in Eastern York County 

SPRINGETTSBURY TWP – In an effort to enhance road safety and accessible state government, Sen. Kristin Phillips-Hill (R-York) and Reps. Joe D’Orsie (R-York) and Wendy Fink (R-York) will host a license plate replacement event for motorists who live in eastern York County.  

Two years ago, more than 100 citizens from the eastern part of the county benefited from the initiative, receiving replacement plates that met legal standards. Building on this success, Phillips-Hill, D’Orsie, and Fink are teaming up again to host this event free of charge to local citizens.

Time:               5-7 p.m.

Criteria for Eligibility:  

  • Plates where one or more numbers or letters cannot be recognized from a distance of 50 feet.  
  • Plates displaying signs of blistering, peeling, discoloration, or loss of reflectivity.  

What to Bring: 

  • A valid driver’s license
  • Current vehicle registration (If more than one person is listed on the registration, please have all individuals present, with their valid driver’s license.)

Law enforcement officials will be present to inspect plates and determine eligibility. Replacement plates are provided free of charge, and assistance will be available to complete the necessary forms, which will be hand-delivered to PennDOT. Replacement plates will be mailed directly to recipients’ homes. 

In addition, a representative from PennDOT’s REAL ID team will be on site to answer questions and help residents better understand REAL ID requirements and the documents needed to obtain one. Federal enforcement of REAL ID requirements will begin on May 7. 

All residents are invited to participate in the event.
