HARRISBURG – The Foundation for Government Accountability (FGA) recently awarded Rep. Seth Grove (R-York) the 2022 Legislator of the Year Award and state Sen. Kristin Phillips-Hill (R-York) the Legislative Champion Award.
“Chairman Grove has devoted his career to ensuring every government program, from welfare and Medicaid to elections oversight, are transparent and free from impropriety, fraud, waste and abuse,” said Joe Horvath, state government affairs director for FGA. “Rep. Grove has made a reputation for himself as a straight-talking, hard-working pragmatist who frequently reaches across the aisle for the betterment of the Keystone State. Thanks to his efforts and willingness to engage with his colleagues, Pennsylvanians have stronger elections and will soon have stronger safety nets for the truly needy.”
“My No. 1 priority has always been serving my constituents to the best of my ability,” said Grove. “Safeguarding our tax dollars and ensuring free and fair elections are core functions of serving my constituents. I am grateful this work is recognized by a leading good government group like the Foundation for Government Accountability. I am especially proud to have been recognized alongside my fellow York countian Sen. Kristin Phillips-Hill.”
Phillips-Hill received the FGA Legislative Champion Award.
“Sen. Phillips-Hill is an invaluable partner, not only for her colleagues and nonprofits, but also for the people of Pennsylvania,” said Horvath. “Her tireless efforts, incisive analysis of the issues, and unmatched integrity set an example for policymakers across the nation.”
“Every vote I cast as a legislator is made with great respect to the people who pay our bills – the taxpayers. We have significant challenges on government spending and overreach, but at the end of the day, this award reflects the good, bipartisan, commonsense solutions I was able to champion with other allies to improve health care outcomes by strengthening the relationship between providers and patients. Rep. Grove has been and will continue to be one of my key allies to advance policy that will make Pennsylvania a better and more prosperous place to live, work and raise a family.”
