HARRISBURG – Senator Kristin Phillips-Hill (R-York) released the following statement regarding the abrupt resignation of Pennsylvania Secretary of State Kathy Boockvar:
“Today we see how the very worst of politics can affect victims across our Commonwealth. For months, legislators were chastised by the Wolf Administration for our diligent and forthright efforts to pursue justice for victims of childhood sexual assault. Now these victims will have to wait for another two years until this much-needed constitutional amendment can appear on a ballot because of a complete and utter failure to perform even the most basic task.
“We have seen an outcry of support to allow voters across the state to weigh in on this matter. Now victims will be forced to wait another two years for this opportunity. It is a very sad day for victims and serves as a clear example how hollow the words of the governor and his administration have been on this issue. It is just another troubling example of incompetence from an Administration that never accepts responsibility for its failures.”
