Ceremony held to dedicate bridge after fallen local Marine

DALLASTOWN – The bridge carrying Iron Stone Hill Road (State Route 2087) over the East Branch Codorus Creek was officially renamed the Sgt. Christopher M. Wrinkle and Tosca Memorial Bridge during a ceremony on October 3 at 11 a.m.

Senator Kristin Phillips-Hill (R-York), who sponsored the law to rename the state bridge in honor of the local fallen Marine, planned the formal ceremony to commemorate Wrinkle and his service dog, Tosca, who perished in a barracks fire on July 31, 2011.

The ceremony featured Maj. Gen. Tony Carrelli, Pennsylvania’s adjutant general and head of the Department of Military and Veterans Affairs.

“This is a fitting tribute to a local hero who is the embodiment of loyalty, service and sacrifice,” Phillips-Hill said.
