Phillips-Hill to chair Senate Communications and Technology Committee

HARRISBURG – Senator Kristin Phillips-Hill (R-28) was appointed to serve as chair of the Senate Communications and Technology Committee today by Senate President Pro Tempore Joe Scarnati (R-25).

 

As Chair, Phillips-Hill plans to focus on increasing access to broadband and addressing the state’s IT challenges.

“I’m extremely grateful to have the opportunity to chair a committee in the senate and will use this opportunity to serve the entire commonwealth on issues facing our state, as well as issues important to the 28th Senatorial District,” Phillips-Hill said.

The Senate Communications and Technology Committee oversees legislative efforts on improving access to high-speed internet in all corners across the commonwealth, ensuring valuable information is protected and secured in state government as well as overall state information technology efficiencies and improvement. 

“This committee can address issues important to the residents of the 28th Senatorial District,” Phillips-Hill said. “We are going to outline an aggressive agenda and try to help as many Pennsylvanians as possible to ensure we are doing everything we can to close our commonwealth’s digital divide and ensure our state’s data is properly protected.”
